The day before Thanksgiving is where all the prep work takes place. Of course, this year is looking very different from last year. But the preparation for a meal doesn’t only happen day-of. There are certain things that happen before the guests arrive. (In this year’s case, just us two.)
The guests would see the end product, as they sit down for the meal. But as the hosts, you know there was a lot of work that needed to be done before everyone sat down. I always find it ironic that the meal preparation time takes half a day, but the eating bit is only for say 30 minutes tops.
Regardless of what you do this year, know that there is a lot that goes on before everyone sits down. Show a little appreciation to the process (and the host if this was a normal year), and not just the end result.
