Give and Take

Life is a lot of give and take. When we have one area of life that is strong, another area might not be as strong.

For instance, we could hold a steady job, but we see that our health takes a toll. We might decide to pick up takeout our way home to justify that it was a long, hard day and deserve a simple pick-me-up. Those little “pick-me-ups” continue to accumulate if we don’t address the source of the problem. As humans, we skirt about the issue in order to avoid any discomfort.

However, this year has been a time for most of us to face our issues head-on and address them in a better (hopefully healthier) way. We have less distractions and places to run to. The distractions will always be there, but it is our choice if we want them to consume us. With minimizing distractions, most people have had the chance to focus on the person who matters most: themselves.

Making time for ourselves just wasn’t priority before.

This year has been a blessing in its own way because we’ve had time to recalibrate what’s most important in our lives. We’ve been given the chance to slow it down. Living a healthier lifestyle will sustain us in the long game and help us grow physically and mentally, bringing our full selves to work.
