In this day and age, we are seeing independent agencies pop up. Some companies are tasked with a creative brief and merely order takers (read: vendors). Some are not.
Partnerships are balanced relationships.
In business, if you can get to a ‘partnership mentality’ with your client, that is the epitome of the agency-client relationship. But naturally, clients don’t just fall in love with a company. They fall in love with the people within the company.
If you’re able to train your team to be great people, clients will naturally stay back. But if one person exemplifies the only all-star, the client will inevitably follow them to wherever. Build a team of all-stars.
People like to work with people they are comfortable with. So in order to attract different types of clientele, the team needs to also be diverse in order to understand people from all walks of life. It’s as simple as that.
