The Greatest Reset in Human History

No matter what stage in life you are in, we are always resetting. This year has been compelling for all because it’s a reset button for everyone. Whether you’ve lost a job or a close family member, we have been shook with an unshakeable reality of what we’re living through.

As humans, we naturally abhor change. We say we embrace it, but it’s undeniable that relearning takes effort and energy. This great equalizer year has taught everyone that what was can definitely be changed. SVPs from big firms are getting laid off in order to make room for other employee’s salaries (aka livelihoods). You once had a lavish lifestyle, but now you are truly learning the true meaning of “living with your means”. Thanks Professor Thornley for teaching me that lesson during my senior year of college.

What is also surprising is the speed of the collapse of some companies because they did not have enough runway funding. The economy is in topsy-turvy mode as we do this dance of “reopening and closing”. When we move out of this, there will be more people who are savers than spenders because they don’t want to be stuck ever again.

There hasn’t been this many people unemployed since the Great Depression. With all this time on their hands, we are forced to focus internally, rather than externally when we had all those distractions surrounding us. Some people are using this time to become the best versions of themselves with eating right and exercising daily because they crave routine. Some people may fall into a depression because of their weight of their problems.

We all envisioned a different year. But it’s a reset — emotionally, financially, and physically.
