Timelines

As any organized planner knows, timelines are the things they live by. But in life, nothing works in a timeline like how you project manage an assignment. We all have different time tables that we live by because life gets in the way. There are people and distractions that we pursue given the opportunities that pop up along the way.

More often than not, these timelines are self-imposed. Society creates these time tables for us. They make us think that we have to achieve “success” by a certain age. But we soon realize that success means something different to different people. We all have goals, but not the same goals. And those goals don’t all have to happen at a certain time. Seeing people graduate college in their 50’s and 60’s is a prime example of throwing this urban myth out the window — you have to graduate in your 20’s to be deemed as “successful”.

It doesn’t matter when you do it, it just matters that you do. The quicker we realize the fact that all the stress and anxiety is self-produced, the better we are on moving to bigger things in our life that matters.
