Something that was coined by Brené Brown in her book “The Gifts of Imperfection: Let Go of Who You Think You’re Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You Are”. With such a long title, you know this book will be jam-packed with gems.

The book came in yesterday, and I jumped at the chance of starting a new book. It is her 10th Anniversary edition of the book, which includes a newly penned note in the beginning of the book. In the preface, she recommends taking The Wholehearted Inventory, which explores her 10 guideposts that is in her book.

This is the first time I have read any of her books, so I was curious what I would score on the 10 areas. My strengths are Guidepost 3 and 4, covering Resilient Spirit and Gratitude and Joy respectively — I felt pretty good about those. The area of improvement I can work on letting go of Being Cool and “Always in Control” (Guidepost 10). Also, pretty spot on.

Leaning into our imperfections and being able to love ourselves wholeheartedly is a journey we will be on for our whole lifetime.
