Worst Fear

What happens when the thing you feared most happens? After last week’s winter storm, we thought we had the worst behind us. As I saw the bursted water pipes on the news, I couldn’t help but hope that it wouldn’t happen to us because that seemed like a big headache to take care of.

Well, it did happen to us.

We found a burst pipe this morning with water flowing out like someone who forgot to turn off the faucet. Something that I hoped didn’t happen to us because it would be an inconvenience. Ignorance was bliss for a week.

But now that my worst fear came to life, and getting to the other side of it — it’s not great, but it’s not the end of the world. It goes to show that sometimes it’s the fear thats keeping us from something bigger and not necessarily the challenge itself.
